About Varanasi
Varanasi, also known as Kashi or Banaras, holds immense spiritual significance in Hinduism. According to the Shiv Purana, it is believed that the city was created by the Advaita Parameshwara, who desired to take another form. The city is revered as one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and is considered the spiritual capital of India.
Varanasi is home to numerous sacred sites, including the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Assi Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, and Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Visitors can also explore the narrow lanes of the Old City, which are filled with vibrant markets, temples, and traditional eateries.
